On Friday January 19, approximately 150 JAG (Jobs for America’s Graduates) Program from the 8 participating schools in our Region gathered on the campus of Ivy Tech for the 2018 Career Development Conference. This was the seventh year for the competition in our region. The students came together to showcase the skills they have been learning during the past year. Competitions were held in categories such as Employability Skills, Critical Thinking and Creative Solutions.
In addition to the competitions, the students heard from guest speaker and former JAG Student Tierra Allen who now works for WTHI-TV. Also, students were able to tour the Ivy Tech Campus, hear a presentation from Vincennes University and network with their fellow competitors as well as local Employers and Community Leaders over lunch.
Local Employers and Community Leaders once again donated their time to serve as Judges for the event and to meet with the students.
Students who finished in First Place will move on to compete at the State Competition in March.
Congratulations to all of the participants and good luck to those moving on to the State Competition!
