As part of the restructuring of the State of Indiana's implementation of the Workforce Investment Act and Wagner-Peyser Act in accordance with Senate Enrolled Act 370 (effective July 1, 2006), Western Indiana's community-driven leadership is comprised of a Workforce Investment Board. This group reports to the State Human Resources Investment Council (also known as the State Workforce Innovation Council), which advises the Governor of Indiana on workforce policy matters.
This leadership team is responsible for the strategic direction of the workforce system in the six counties of theEconomic Growth Region 7: Clay, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion and Vigo Counties.
